Portfolio...

Hey everyone, this is my portfolio that I put together with things shot from September (beginning of the semester) to December. I am fairly proud of this portfolio, but I am also looking for it to get much better.
BELLEVILLE; Ont. - Peter Svborik looks on as he sees trains go by at the Quinte Region train show at Centennial Highschool in Belleville, Ontario on December 5th, 2009. The annual show happens the first weekend of December. (12/5/09). Photo by Adam Jackson.

KINGSTON, Ont. - Frank Gardiner, a Kingston native, waits for the bus in downtown Kingston. (21/09/09). Photo by Adam Jackson.
TRENTON, Ont. - Canadian Minister of Defense, Peter MacKay and Governor General Michaelle Jean look on, as a hearse carrying a down Canadian soldier leaves CFB Trenton. The soldier, Sapper Steven Marshall was killed by an improvised explosive device on Friday in Kandahar, Afghanistan. (11/3/09). Photo by Adam Jackson.

OTTAWA, Ont. - Jessica Stumple plays with a poppy during Remembrance Day ceremonies in Ottawa. A major part of this year's celebrations was a visit from Prince Charles and Princess Camilla. (11/11/09). Photo by Adam Jackson.

That's all I have for now, but this post will be updated as necessary. Thanks for looking!

Olympic Torch Relay? Kinda

Today, I shot the Olympic torch going through Kitchener, Ontario. My initial plan was to shoot it in waterloo as well as kitchener, but that didnt work out.

So i was at the ceremony area in Kitchener, when a few signs caught my eye. A group of around 200 Aboriginal and not so Aboriginal people were protesting against the olympics. I had already shot the flame in Belleville, so i decided, instead of shooting the flame and the cheesy ceremony, I would shoot these protestors. Here are some of the shots I got.

Night Shooting!

Just last night, I decided to try some long exposure, complete night shooting. So I took my camera over to the park across the street...and this is the result--->

The picture is a little blurry because I didnt have a tripod, I just put it in the grass and held it as still as I could.

It was shot at ISO 100, f/5.6, at 10" (seconds)

I'm gonna go back again tonight and use a tripod

Thanks for looking,

Adam

More photos!

Here are a couple photographs that I've taken over the years...
This (above) is a picture of a trumpet player from Rock the River 2008. This was taken live, on stage.
This is a picture I took in a small studio. I used a very high aperture to obtain enough detail on the inside of the light bulb, while keeping the shutter speed lower and allowing the entire photo to be in focus and bright enough to see.

If you have any feedback at all, please comment and leave a message.
Good night,

Adam Jackson
