Paul Formosa

Some stills from my multimedia project on people who live in downtown Belleville. This guy's name is Paul Formosa. He is from Malta and has had a very interesting life of heartbreak and happiness.

I got to spend an afternoon with him, just drinking coffee and talking about life.

Shooting assignments like these helped me really learn how to 'make' pictures. With most things I shoot, the pictures are there and I just capture them, but shooting these not-so-photographic events taught me a lot.

Event: Christmas Train in Belleville

Gleaner's Foodbank of Belleville collects donations at the Annual Christmas Train event that draws hundreds of people to the East end of the city for music and celebration.

Rally of the Tall Pines

I recently covered the 40th annual Rally of the Tall Pines in Bancroft, Ont. I covered this last year, but I wasn't happy with just photos of cars racing by. I wanted to find some sort of interesting story...

Iva Malo and John Hall met online on a racing forum. Iva was looking for a co-pilot for the Tall Pines rally and John came out of retirement in order to help Iva.

I hung out with these two dudes for about 60 minutes total (when they were back for servicing) and really enjoyed my time with them.
